Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vintage?

Please note that most of our items are pre-loved and may have minor imperfections commensurate with the date of manufacture. Vintage items are about 40 to 100 years old, antique pieces are over 100 years old. Minor wear should be considered acceptable, they are simply part of the character of owning an older piece. I give full condition reports for each item, please feel free to contact me for further information.

Payments

  • Direct Bank Transfer.
  • We accept online payment by credit card, debit card or Paypal, via the international payment gateway Paypal. This is a secure environment using Secure Socket Layering technology (SSL). You can check that you are shopping in a secure environment by looking for either a locked padlock icon or an image of a key in the grey bar at the bottom of your screen.
  • Payment can also be made over the phone with a debit or credit card by calling our office number 01386 430123.

We do NOT store any credit or debit card information.

As well as being convenient, shopping over the internet is a safe and secure way to shop. To help keep it safe we suggest you always close down your internet browser when you have finished shopping online, especially if you use a shared PC.

Delivery

We aim to dispatch all orders within 48 hours of being placed, to arrive with UK customers within 5 days (excluding Sundays). The delivery period stated within which you will receive your order is approximate. Goods will be sent to the address given by you in your order. All shipments are tracked and made by Royal mail or Parcelforce.

STANDARD UK DELIVERY – £5.95 

LARGE PARCEL UK DELIVERY – £7.95 

COURIER DELIVERY – £11.95 

Orders should ordinarily arrive within 5 days (excluding Sundays).

NEXT DAY UK DELIVERY For STANDARD Parcels Only – £10.95 – We offer a next-day delivery service for UK addresses only, with orders placed on weekdays before 1pm, via ROYAL MAIL.

Our next day service is available for orders placed for delivery Monday to Friday. We cannot guarantee deliveries on a Saturday, Sunday or on bank holiday Mondays, nor can we provide a next day service to Jersey, the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands, counties north of West Lothian or Northern Ireland.

Worldwide delivery 

EUROPEAN DELIVERY – From £18.00 
We are happy to fulfil orders to other European addresses, these can take up to 2 weeks to arrive as they have to clear customs.

USA, AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND  – From £30.00 
We are happy to fulfil orders to addresses outside Europe , these can take up to 5 weeks to arrive depending on the local Customs office. 

REST OF THE WORLD – From £24.00 

Some orders may incur local Import Duty and taxes, which you may be asked to pay on delivery of your order.

We cannot be held responsible for these charges.

TRACKING YOUR INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY
All international deliveries are sent via Royal Mail International Tracked Service and the progress of your delivery can be tracked through their website; http://www.royalmail.com/track-trace

Please note customs policies vary widely from country to country. We recommend you contact your local customs office for further information. Please note international shipments may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities.

Returns

Order confidently from us, knowing you may return any products within 7 days of receipt for a refund or exchange as long as those products are in the same condition as they left us. We always aim to process returns as quickly as possible within 5 days of our receipt.

Damaged Goods

Although our parcels are always wrapped securely, please inform us by email if any breakages occur in transit within 48 hours of arrival.

All items are sent fully insured. If an item gets lost or damaged during delivery we will fully refund you.

Any reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise, in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest. You shall send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 7 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation of this contract.

Cancelled Orders

Please make sure all your questions have been answered before you place your order.

You cannot cancel an order once it has been dispatched.

Any orders cancelled by the customer may incur a cancellation fee,  any international banking fees will be deducted from the refund.

Any orders cancelled by us will receive a full refund.

These Terms and Conditions and your use of our website are governed by English law and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English court. This does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights.

This website and our Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.

Whilst we are happy to consider requests for products and enquiries from outside the United Kingdom, we give no warranty, express or implied, that the use of this website or the placing of any order through this website from outside the UK complies with any applicable non-UK laws or regulations. Accordingly, any products or promotions not permitted under your local law are not offered.
