Description

Tranquebar was designed by Christian Joachim at Aluminia between 1912-1918, and later Nils Thorsson designed several pieces for Royal Copenhagen. Originally produced in blue (#11), in 1976 it was also sold in red (#13), green (#12) and brown (#45) variants, and remained in production until 1995. Spelt “Trankebar” in Danish, it is named after the former colony in East India about 100 km south of Pondicherry.
