Beautiful Rococo revival tea set made by the John Rose Coalport factory in 1831.

This rare set has been heavily moulded in the ‘Adelaide’ shape and lavishly gilded with swags and scrolls on a white ground with a central gold medallion. The teapot has a small “duck’s head” spout, a squat finial and high handle spur. 

Pattern # 2 / 881 in gold on bowl base.

1 Teapot with duck billed spout – 21 cm H x 26 cm spout to handle.

1 Lidded Sugar – 16 cm H x 17 cm handle to handle.

1 Milk Jug – 11 cm H x 13.5 cm lip to handle.

1 Slop Bowl – 8.5 cm H x 18 cm diameter – tiny amount of gilding rub on rim.

Lovely condition, no damage to the ceramic, gilding excellent – 200 years old. Looks unused

Description

This thriving pottery in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire England produced a variety of tablewares, mostly overglaze decorated in flower designs,  from around 1750 until it’s closure in 1926.
