An extremely rare tea set for Two, made by Shelley China during the 1940s. Beautiful bone china made in the elegant Gainsborough shape and decorated with the green Dubarry pattern. Each piece has been beautifully hand painted by The Ladies at Shelley China with floral sprays and green bands, the rims and handles gilded with 24ct gold.  

All pieces are marked with the green Shelley England factory stamp to base – Dubarry – pattern #13396.

Tea Trio …..

Tea cup – 7 cm x 10 cm diameter.

Saucers- 14 cm diameter.

Plate – 16 cm diameter.

Lovely condition, little if any signs of use.

Description

The collector societies for Shelley china are worldwide, from it’s 1827 inception to the close of the pottery in 1966 it’s china has been a firm favourite in homes. Based in Staffordshire, the pottery crafted thin translucent, yet strong china items in thousands of different patterns, noted by number and sometimes by name.
