The center of the plate shows a motif in Chinese style, a peony surrounded by leaves. Around the edge runs a garland of leaves and 22ct gold decoration.

The origin of the pattern is associated with Count Albert Apponyi, for who this simplified version of Fleurs des Indes was first made.
