‘WETLEY CHINA’ is the trade name of Sampson Smith, manufacturer of fine china at Longton in Staffordshire. c.1846-1963. They produced beautiful hand decorated tea sets typical of the era, this set dates to 1925. This large bowl is fully decorated with a solid green band, wild game birds and gilded bows and swags. Pattern # 9283.
Bowl 8.5 cm high x 15 cm diameter
Lovely condition, a hairline crack stops it pinging but displays well with little if any wear to the gilding.
