Antique Breakfast set from the Staffordshire pottery of William Lowe. Made in 1875 these cups and saucers are amongst the earliest pieces produced by William Lowe. Each piece has been hand painted with cobalt blue and red enamel paints, then gilded with 24ct gold. In undamaged condition, they are very rare indeed.

Lovely condition, bright colours, may have some very light rubbing to the gilding – 150 years old.

William Lowe Pottery were earthenware, Egyptian Black and bone china manufacturers at the Sydney Works (High Street & Sutherland Road), Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. The business was previously Tams & Lowe” who split up in 1874 and became William Lowe and John Tams as two separate companies.
