<p><strong>This  tableware was made in the Staffordshire pottery circa 1960. It has never been used as is in a very rare New Condition. The beautiful pure white bone china has been decorated with a pink and green trailing honeysuckle design with gilded edges. The footed teacup is very elegant and typical of the era.</strong></p>

<p class="style262"><strong>The Colclough china company was founded in 1890 by Herbert Joseph Colclough, who was an ex-Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent. H</strong><strong>e moved to the Vale potteries in Longton and was honoured when in 1913 he was visited by King George V and Queen Mary who gave royal licence for the company to produce Royal Vale china.</strong></p>
<p class="style262"><strong>In the 1930&#8217;s Colclough China Limited was expanding fast and it was then that they started to produce the tea and dinner ware that we know today. They were the first company to produce fine bone china for the every day market which was marketed by the piece, ruling out the need for large sets to be purchased first.</strong></p>
<p class="style262"><strong>In 1948, Colclough China Limited took over Booths and Adderley and then in the early 1950&#8217;s merged with the Ridgeway Company.</strong></p>
<p class="style262"><strong>Colclough and Ridgeway became part of the Royal Doulton Group in the early 1970&#8217;s.</strong></p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><b>English fine bone china has been produced at the Staffordshire factory of Ridgway since 1808. The styles are typical for the period, the peony shaped cups, the scallop edged saucers and plates, with floral or landscape decoration. All pieces from the factory were hand made and beautifully hand coloured and gilded with 24 ct gold.</b></p>
<p><strong>This range of bone china tea wares dates to the early years, pattern number 168, circa 1830s. Fabulous decoration of multi-coloured flowers on a pure white china with a faun border and heavily gilded.</strong></p>

<p><b>English fine bone china has been produced at the Staffordshire factory of Ridgway since 1808. The styles are typical for the period, the peony shaped cups, the scallop edged saucers and plates, with floral or landscape decoration. All pieces from the factory were hand made and beautifully hand coloured and gilded with 24ct gold.</b></p>
<p><b>By 1955 Ridgway became one of the largest pottery combines in existence, eight factories comprised the group &#8211; Booths at Tunstall, Colcloughs, Adderly Floral China and Gainsborough Works at Longton, Paladin Works Fenton, N. Staffs. and Portland Pottery in Cobridge and the Beford works at Shelton. </b></p>
