Crescent China Duo


George Jones (Crescent China) small cup and saucer made in Stoke on Trent Staffordshire England, circa 1880. Impeccably decorated by hand and beautifully shaped in bone china, this cup and saucer are a rare find for any collector.

At 14 George jones started a seven year apprenticeship with Minton and then worked at Wedgwood. By 1850 he had established himself as a successful pottery merchant and by 1872 china production was started at his Staffordshire works.

Marked on the base of the cup and saucer with the makers puce stamp – Crescent China England.

Cup – 5.5 high x 6.3 cm diameter

Saucer – 12 cm 

Superb quality and condition, no damage.
