Howard Sprays Teapot set


Rare Hammersley & Co. bone china Tea Set. Made in England during the 1930s/40s, this set is decorated with hand-painted sprays of flowers within a wide ‘ Clotted Cream ‘ coloured border.

Signed F. Howard, Pattern # 3069, known as ‘ Howard Sprays ‘. 

Bulbous shape Teapot 11 cm to lid x 21 cm handle to spout – Damaged

Milk Jug 10 cm high x 13.5 cm lip to handle.

Sugar Bowl 12 cm diameter.

Overall the set displays well.

The teapot is repaired at the spout and has a crack in the left side, lid perfect.

The Jug and Bowl have no cracks, chips or crazing, slight gilt loss.

Hammersley and Co. has a history of producing high quality, finely decorated bone china. The company began in 1862 as a china manufacturer at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent and went through several name changes before the works finally closed in 1982.  The Hammersley name was sold to Aynsley in 1989.
