Chintz Pattern – Melody – pink, yellow, blue, & red flowers on a mint green ground decorate the upper 3/4 of the cup and the outer rim of the saucer and plate. Gold edging on all pieces, as well as gold detail on handle.

This rare set was made for Lawleys of Regent Street, London around 1940. It is made in the Henley shape and decorated in the green melody pattern with gilded rims – trio consists of 

1 Teacup – Diameter: 9cms (3 1/2″) Cup Height: 6cms  (2 1/2″)

1 Saucer – Diameter: 14.5cms (5 3/4″)

1 Tea plate – Diameter: 15cms ( 6″)

The collector societies for Shelley china are worldwide, from it’s 1827 inception to the close of the pottery in 1966 it’s china has been a firm favourite in homes. Based in Staffordshire, the pottery crafted thin translucent, yet strong china items in thousands of different patterns, noted by number and sometimes by name.
