Victorian Roses Jug & Bowl


Aynsley china is known for it’s high-quality, strong, and brilliantly white bone china. It gained Royal patronages firstly from Queen Victoria, who gave the Royal seal of approval used in their factory mark, and latterly Queen Elizabeth. Today it is one of the most sought after antique china by collectors worldwide.

This rare tea set was made at John Aynsley’s Portland works in Staffordshire circa 1890. Very pretty jug and bowl set decorated with pink English roses and dark green borders, gilding on rims. Registration # 549912 – Pattern # A381.

Milk Jug – 10 cm x 13 cm lip to handle.

Bowl – 6 cm x 13 cm diameter.

Lovely condition, no cracks / chips to the china with very little if any wear to the gilding.

John Aynsley founded the Staffordshire pottery in 1775, and in 1861 his grandson John Aynsley built the historic Portland Works on Sutherland Road, Longton, Staffordshire.
