Rare vintage bone china lidded sugar bowl with twin handles, made in Staffordshire England and decorated by hand with autumn fruits and nuts. Artist signed K SALL. Both bowl and lid are heavily gilded around the rims, handles and knob.

Hammersley and Co. has a history of producing high quality, finely decorated bone china. The company began in 1862 as a china manufacturer at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent and went through several name changes before the works finally closed in 1982. The Hammersley name was sold to Aynsley in 1989.
