Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vintage?

Please note that most of our items are pre-loved and may have minor imperfections commensurate with the date of manufacture. Vintage items are about 40 to 100 years old, antique pieces are over 100 years old. Minor wear should be considered acceptable, they are simply part of the character of owning an older piece. I give full condition reports for each item, please feel free to contact me for further information.

Payments

  • Direct Bank Transfer.
  • We accept online payment by credit card, debit card or Paypal, via the international payment gateway Paypal. This is a secure environment using Secure Socket Layering technology (SSL). You can check that you are shopping in a secure environment by looking for either a locked padlock icon or an image of a key in the grey bar at the bottom of your screen.
  • Payment can also be made over the phone with a debit or credit card by calling our office number 01386 430123.

We do NOT store any credit or debit card information.

As well as being convenient, shopping over the internet is a safe and secure way to shop. To help keep it safe we suggest you always close down your internet browser when you have finished shopping online, especially if you use a shared PC.

Delivery

We ship via the Royal Mail Tracked service, which we find the most reliable courier both at home and internationally.
Orders are dispatched within 48 hours of being placed. The delivery period stated within which you will receive your order is approximate.
Goods will be sent to the address given by you in your order. Carrier’s costs can vary due to the size and value of the goods.
All items are sent fully insured. If an item gets lost or damaged during delivery, your order will be fully refunded. 

UK Delivery

STANDARD UK Delivery From £5.95 – Delivery expected within 5 working days.

SPECIAL DELIVERY UK From £10.95 – A Signed For delivery service expected within 2 working days. Orders placed over the weekend will be sent the next working day.

International Delivery

Please be aware, that international shipments may be asked to pay additional charges by customs, this duty can vary between countries. It is the customers responsibility to satisfy themselves with any additional charges prior to purchase. We will not be responsible for any additional charges of this nature and unable to accept returns where additional charges apply.

EUROPEAN DELIVERY from £18.00 – Tracked delivery service. Delivery expected within 10 working days.

REST OF THE WORLD Zone 1 from £24.00 / Zone 2&3 from £30.00 – Shipping zones are based on Royal Mail’s Pricing for Asia, Americas and Australasia. A tracked delivery service, arrival times may vary depending on the local Customs offices. We expect parcels to arrive within 5 weeks. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. We recommend you contact your local customs office for further information. Please note international shipments may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities.

Tracking Your Parcel

All parcels are sent by Royal Mail International services and the progress of your delivery can be tracked through their website; http://www.royalmail.com/track-trace

Returns Policy

You can return the items to us within 7 days of receipt for a refund, items must be in their original condition. We always aim to process returns as quickly as possible within 5 days of our receipt. We only refund using the same means of payment used at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to reject returns if our policy is misused or the item has been tampered with.

We are not liable for any missing or damaged returns. make sure you ship fully tracked and insured.

Shipping charges will not be refunded on return.

If you believe your items are not as described please email us detailed photos within 48 hours of arrival, before sending the item back.

International Returns – Any returns made for orders shipped outside of the UK will be at the customer’s cost for shipping and duties. Please ensure you have included the appropriate customs Returns form with your shipment. We will not bare any responsibility for returned international orders that have been lost or damaged in transit.

These Terms and Conditions and your use of our website are governed by English law and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English court. This does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights.

This website and our Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.

Whilst we are happy to consider requests for products and enquiries from outside the United Kingdom, we give no warranty, express or implied, that the use of this website or the placing of any order through this website from outside the UK complies with any applicable non-UK laws or regulations. Accordingly, any products or promotions not permitted under your local law are not offered.
